Earth Week Ecycling Drive a Success!!!

The Parker Green Squad, working along with Universal Recycling Technologies collected 3332 pounds of electronic items! These items would have been landfilled.

Earth Week is here

Monday- “Lights out @ PHS! (Parker High School)”
Tuesday- Recycle Raffle during lunches, if you are seen recycling you can get a raffle ticket which will be entered for prize winning.
Wednesday- Movie Event after school, everyone is welcome to join Green Squad in a “green-related” movie watching experience
Thursday- “EcoTrivia” during lunches,
Friday- Campus clean-up after school, everyone is welcome.
Saturday- Ecycling event @ Parker, everyone is welcome to bring their electronics they no longer use to be properly recycled. It is free.
Sunday- EARTH DAY

Earth Week is almost here!

With Earth Week, leading to the magical day itself, Earth Day, just around the corner Parker Green Squad is getting ready! Earth Week is April 16-22. We will be taking recyclables during lunch in order to recieve a raffle ticket which could win you a prize! Green Squad will be located by the Viking Credit Union and taking recyclables there. Anyone is encouraged to participate. On Monday, April 16 of Earth Week, Green Squad is asking that all teachers turn off their classroom lights in order to conserve energy, if teachers are unable to conduct class without lights, they are just asked to reduce the amount of lights turned on. More activities for Earth Week will be planned along the way! Another after school campus clean-up will be taking place Friday, April 13!

Fix a Leak Week

March 12-18 is the fourth annual Fix a Leak Week. As a group, the Parker Green Squad team will be checking for leaks around Parker High school in order to get them fixed at the Wednesday, March 14 after school meeting. Green Squad will start the meeting by gathering at Mr. Hildebrandt's room as usual. Be there or be less green.

Upcoming Dates for Green Squad Meetings

At the last Green Squad meeting, a fun event was again discussed. Bowling has become a popular suggestion of Green Squad members. The next few upcoming meetings will take place to continue the discussion of Earth Day plans. The meetings will take place on the following dates:

Go green, because it's cool

Recently on Wednesday, a meeting between the Green Squad leaders took place in order to figure out a way to set up a fun event for Green Squad. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and a competition between the Green Squads at both Parker and Craig was suggested by Mr. Hildebrandt. This will all be discussed at the upcoming meeting with the entire Green Squad on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14th at 3:30 pm like usual.

Smencils Sale Over!!! Over 175 dollars raised!!! Great job!!!

Smencil (aromatic pencils made from 100% recycled newspapers) and customized dog tag (made from recycled aluminum) sales netted the green squad over 175$. Some money is still trickling in. Contact Mr. Hildebrandt if you would like to purchase one on the last remaining items.
